The Canadian Ski Guide Association provide our 7 day Mountain Safety courses.

This course has also been approved by EFPEM as an 'alternative discipline' for Andorran certification.

After a fantastic response last season - we have scheduled four courses this season - two in December and two in April.

If you don't have your own Ski Touring gear, you can hire it through the Academy to pick up in resort, if you book in advance.

This is not a Canadian certification course; but it is a fascinating and exciting week!

2	Briefing Use of compass Course setting Contouring Potting safe route.	Ski Mountaineering Trek - Map reading, compass reading, use of contouring,Equipment awareness different types advantages & limitations.
3	Briefing Setting a safe route Avalanche awareness, map reading, contour features	Rope work Familiarisation of equipment Knots used in rope work Abseiling Setting a rope to ascend with prussic
4	BriefingCourse setting map reading, recognising mountain features. Assessing Avalanche risk.	Ski mountaineering climb, Ascending using traversing & kick turns, Terrain awareness Avalanche risk assessment snow condition assessment.assent of 2700m peak
5	Briefing Course setting Route planning,	Ski mountaineering trek Contouring, Avalanche awareness, Overnight in mountain hut.
6	Walk out from mountain hut 500m assent Avalanche canaries, Rescue team leading, Probing,	Risk assessment, Avalanche zone management, Working as a team with transceivers.
